THESE 3D WOODEN MAPS WILL MAKE YOU WANT TO VISIT ALL. THE. PLACES.Bring that sense of wanderlust to your walls for Father’s Day—or any day.
I’ve always loved a good map—give me a dog-eared road atlas from days of yore and I’ll lose myself for hours in its pages, delving into the highways and byways of America and beyond. The thing is, we all know that physical maps are basically obsolete in our current lives. Google Maps and Apple Maps have consigned all of their predecessors to the dustbin—or at least the glove compartment—of history.
Interior designers, however, have deployed maps on wallpapers, murals, and prints for decades. And with so many options available online, now it’s easier than ever to hang your own map in any room of your home, whether it’s as a memento of a cherished vacation or as inspiration for a future sojourn. So if you’re like me and you want to recapture some of that bygone cartographic contentment, you’re in luck. I especially like these laser-carved 3D wooden models for their level of detail—many show topography and ocean depths—and chances are you can find one for just about any place on earth you desire.

And that’s how the abode got its moniker: Quirk Box...

I always have a really hard time buying presents for Eric. He is really hard to shop for, but also, we usually just buy what we want throughout the year, so there is almost nothing I can get him that he likely hasn’t already gotten for himself. Being in quarantine these last few months, we had to figure out our work from home situation. I already have an office set up downstairs, but Eric was working from the kitchen island for a while. We finally took the time to get an office set up for him and he’s been complaining that it’s “not finished” ever since. In an effort help finish the space, I set out to find some amazing decor for his office/man cave! When I saw the gorgeous Enjoy the Wood World Map, I knew this would be a perfect gift for him! Eric works in IT and specializes in Geographic Information Systems, which is tech-speak for “Google Maps”, thus, a world map seemed really fitting for his office!
